How do those artists get things to fade off into the distance? Well this is the course that teaches how to create drawings with vanishing points - you know houses with the correct number of sides, people that get smaller as they are farther away. Students will learn how to create drawings where the buildings and fences actually do have the right perspective. We start with some simple drawings of shapes, tables and rooms and move on to the outdoor environment. This is a very empowering class for kids who like to draw and want to be able to make their drawings have correct perspective and depth.

Who is Derek Wulff Anyway?
I am a BC certified teacher who has been teaching grades K to 6 for the past 13 years. I have taught a wide variety of subjects, but find myself most drawn to science and art. I have been a lifelong artist and athlete, father and coach, gardener, author and environmentalist, and have set up a studio/classroom at my home to teach and practice my crafts. I have been doing ceramics for 12 years, teaching art in my classes and loving the rich learning experiences of hands-on science.
I love teaching and want to share my enthusiasm with children who want to learn new things and make sense of their world around them (to the extent that any of us can!).
My courses are practical, and hands-on. Students make and test their creations, and get to take them home. I make sure they make the link between what they are doing and how it applies in the grownup world.
The courses I teach are fun and challenging, with an individual approach, the way learning should be!
