Ever wanted to make your own drawbridge, swing bridge - what about a suspension bridge? Do you wonder when I'm going to stop asking you questions? Well, this is the course for you! Along with interactive web activities to help you understand the forces acting on bridges, this course will allow you - no, demand you build your own bridge using levers, gears or hydraulics (graffiti extra). Who is Derek Wulff Anyway?
I am a BC certified teacher who has been teaching grades K to 6 for the past 13 years. I have taught a wide variety of subjects, but find myself most drawn to science and art. I have been a lifelong artist and athlete, father and coach, gardener, author and environmentalist, and have set up a studio/classroom at my home to teach and practice my crafts. I have been doing ceramics for 12 years, teaching art in my classes and loving the rich learning experiences of hands-on science.
I love teaching and want to share my enthusiasm with children who want to learn new things and make sense of their world around them (to the extent that any of us can!).
My courses are practical, and hands-on. Students make and test their creations, and get to take them home. I make sure they make the link between what they are doing and how it applies in the grownup world.
The courses I teach are fun and challenging, with an individual approach, the way learning should be!
