There are many different types of bridges used to span those difficult watery bits and valleys that have managed to work their way into our daily lives. Many bridges are bolted firmly in place and, earthquakes not withstanding, they don't move too much.
Pathfinders bridges are designed to be examples of the moving bridges of the world. Bascule bridges, lift bridges, swing bridges and draw bridges are what we have designed and made kits of.
Great for teachers who are doing a unit on bridges as an example or an activity, and fun to make and use for the inquiring child, these kits will provide hours of learning with a purpose!
All pieces are pre-cut and drilled for ease of making.
They use realistic materials: wood, black paper hydraulics or string. (Well OK that isn't totally realistic since real bridges use asphalt, not black paper, but the shipping costs would be huge if we included concrete.)
They come with simple and clear instructions.
They take about an hour to build by children from ages 10 and over.
All you need are some good scissors and glue!
They move in all the right directions!
Have a look, they take about and hour or two to make and can be used in many places around the classroom or house (very handy for hamsters).
